Mom of identical triplets reveals unexpected reaction her daughters have when she tells one 'no'
An Ohio mom to identical triplets captured the shocking reaction that all three of her daughters had when she told one of them “No.”
Crystal Nikkel, a 32-year-old mom of five, shared a video of the moment on Instagram, where it racked up more than 2 million views and nearly 175,000 “likes” in just a few days. In it, she told her 20-month-old daughter Noelle to stop doing something.
However, the second she said the word “no,” she and her identical sisters, Eve and Natalie, immediately burst into tears.
“I didn’t yell at you or you,” Nikkel told Natalie, who she was holding in her arms, and Eve, who sat on the ground, while chuckling.
“Recorded this a while ago and figured I’d share,” she wrote in the accompanying caption, adding, “*Disclaimer Noelle was actually doing something she wasn’t supposed to when I first told her no.*”
Viewers took to the comments section to react to the silly parenting moment. One Instagram user joked that the triplets were “Bluetooth connected.” Another said that the girls “still don’t [realize] they’re individuals.”
“Surround sound crying,” yet another person joked.
This isn’t the first time that this has happened either, Nikkel told Today.com.
“It happens pretty much every time,” she admitted, adding that it’s not just tears that her daughters replicate. “If I’m tickling one of them and she’s laughing, the other two will instantly turn and laugh too.”

Reflecting on life with her daughters, Nikkel told the outlet that the girls haven’t been separated yet and are already becoming best friends.
“If we go anywhere, all three come along. My husband’s been curious about what would happen if we just took one to the store, but we haven’t tried it yet,” she said.
Since welcoming her little ones, Nikkel has documented life as a mom of five on Instagram. They previously went viral in May 2025 after she shared a moment where she struggled to tell her three newest additions apart when it was time to feed them.
At the time, she spoke to Newsweek, revealing that she and her husband had been surprised when they learned that they were expecting triplets. She added that they were born about three months early, which led to a “rough start.”
