Interactive flat panels boost learning outcomes, minister says
Indonesia’s Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti said on Monday that the distribution of interactive flat panels (IFPs) has led to improved learning outcomes in schools across the country.
Mu'ti said his ministry had monitored and evaluated schools that received the devices and found noticeable improvements in classroom dynamics and student performance.
He said lessons had become more engaging, with students showing greater enthusiasm, adding that the gains reflected the impact of President Prabowo Subianto’s digital learning initiative.
Mu'ti reported that as of Nov. 16, 2025, a total of 172,550 IFPs had arrived at schools and learning centers nationwide, while another 43,022 were still in transit.
The shipment represents roughly 75 percent of the government’s target to distribute 288,865 devices by Dec. 17, 2025.
He said the rollout marked the fulfillment of a pledge Prabowo made during National Teachers’ Day in 2024 and reflects Presidential Instruction No. 7/2025 on school revitalisation and digital learning, as well as Presidential Regulation No. 79/2025 on revisions to the 2025 work plan.
Mu'ti said revitalising schools and accelerating digital learning would remain his ministry’s priorities in 2026, despite budget constraints.
He noted that during a coordination meeting in Tangerang, Banten, on Nov. 13, he had received instructions from Prabowo to expand device allocation next year.
Mu'ti said the plan calls for each school to receive three IFPs in 2026, up from one unit per school this year, in line with the president’s directive.
