Young Indonesian Talent Shines with 28 Medals at WorldSkills ASEAN 2025
Manila: The Indonesian delegation achieved impressive results at the 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Competition 2025, which officially closed on August 30, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Manila, Philippines. Of the 38 competitors, Indonesia won 28 medals, consisting of 9 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 9 bronze medals, and 9 diploma medals.
The Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development (Binalavotas) at the Ministry of Manpower, Agung Nur Rohmad, as Head of the Indonesian Delegation, expressed his appreciation to the competitors, experts, and officials who had fought and worked hard in the competition.
Agung emphasized that this achievement was extraordinary considering that preparations for the training camp only took four months.
"These results demonstrate that Indonesia's young talents possess high competency, strong competitiveness, and are capable of competing at the regional and global levels," said Agung in a press release from the Ministry of Manpower's Public Relations Bureau received on Monday, September 1, 2025.
The closing ceremony of the 2025 WorldSkills ASEAN Competition also marked the symbolic handover of the WorldSkills flag to Indonesia, represented by the Director General of Binalavotas, Ministry of Manpower. Thus, Indonesia will officially host the 2027 WorldSkills ASEAN Competition.
Meanwhile, the Director General of TESDA Philippines, Jose Francisco B. Benitez, in his closing remarks expressed his appreciation for the participants' professionalism.
"This competition proves that ASEAN youth have great potential to compete at the global level. WorldSkills ASEAN is not just about winning, but about building a better skills future for the region," Benitez added.
